Today we left shipyard. It was a great feeling to finally sail out of Amsterdam. I am really excited for what is to come, and also really looking forward to sailing of the Gulf of Biscay and the Atlantic again. I heard there is some heavy weather coming in, so I am curious how that will be. I do get seasick sometimes, and since I have not been at sea for so long, it is bound to happen…

We are leaving today!!! Finally out to sea… This is where my journey really starts. Today we also get trainees on board, who will be joining us for 2 months to learn about our ship and sailing on square-rigged ships in general. We will be sailing south to find the trade winds and then west towards the Caribbean, crossing the Atlantic Ocean on our way.
